TOEFL_speaking practice part 1 2Q (3)

Q. Describe the moment when you asked for help someone.

 I was on the way to airport after finishing my trip for two months in America. The bus I was taking was delayed because of traffic jam unexpected. So, I couldn't meet the my flight schedule. As soon as I arrived at airport, I ran to the gate. But my flight was gone. I became panic. At that time, there was someone who works for airport. She was kind and so nice. She appeased me with calm words and helped me to take next flight. Fortunately, I could come back to my home in safety. Saying thanks is all I do to her but I feel real appreciation of her kindness.

Q. Describe the most memorable class that you can think of.

 I was taking a North Korean's living life class when I was in university. At the beginning of the class, professor hung up one old map on the board. It was a map of the Korean peninsula in early 20century. She let us explain the time of day. One by one described as she asked for. After finishing all speeches, professor pointed out our mistake that every student made. All had used the term of North Korea and South Korea when we explain the time of day. It was obviously before North and South was divided though we were unconsciously thinking the Korea as two different countries. Since the class, the fact that I am living in a division counrty came over to me more closely.

TOEFL_speaking practice part 1 2Q (2)

Q. What is the most important characteristic of a good parent?

As far as I am concerned (what is the most important characteristic of a person) to be a good parent is being independant from their children. Being independant means to support them mentally and physically until they find their own way of living and then respect their children for being independant. Nowadays especially in Korea Many household have only kid so some parents are inclined to obsess with their kid although they already have grown up. However, it just spoil them. Regarding them as the independant member of society is the first virtue of good parents.

Q. What are the characteristics of a good citizen?

As far as I am concerned, the characteristics of a good citizen are honesty and harmony. Based on the reliable society, our community can be more developed and prosperous. If people are all dishonest, people are likely to doubt everything they have to do with and it would bring about countless laws to moniotr each person's behavior. Also, If people are thinking only themselves, our society's system will fall down in a while. Guess this, there are only such people who are filled with complaint and unsatisfaction. It must be the moster city.

Q. What is the most important characteristic of a good teacher?

As far as I am concerned, what is the most important chracteristic of a person to be a good teacher is patience. Having a pateience means to wait for the time when students are ready to learn and are willing to take up what teachers teach. As an example, I can take Helenkeler's case. Serlybern who was a teacher of very cranky and miserable girl Helenkeler taught her with all-out effort. The admirable thing of her is she wait for her until she is ready. Even the moment helenkeler is about to give up, she didn't stop teaching her.

TOEFL_ speaking practice part 1,2

1. Which do you think is better for students? Using calculators or calculating by themselves? Give specific details to support your answer.

* My answer

As far as I concerned that I strongly believe that calculating by themselves is better for students.To begin with, it develops their mathematics mind and skill.In other words, calculating itself has its own function to boost mathematics skill. Furthermore, there are a lot of cases on which we should calculate by ourselves.
Let’s suppose.we are in the grocery store and we are suppose to buy milk for next week. There are lots of type of milk on the shelve. In the meantime we find one milk brand is on sale for 30 percent off, but we should buy it two at a time to get a discount. How can we do?
 In brief, we are encountering  such situations a lot in our daily life. Thus, we should practice it whenever we study it. Otherwise, reliance on calculator will rise and when the ability is needed, we can not handle it.

* Eaxmple answer
As far as I am concerned, I strongly believe that using calculators is better for students.To begin with, students can boost their interest on math.To be specific, students can concentrate on other parts of math by using the time that was formerly used to calculate numerical formulas.On top of that, calculators can prevent mistakes.To suggest my own experience, I missed one question on the math test because of my simple calculation error and if there was a calculator, I might got a better grade in my university.In a nutshell, I strongly believe that students can get some advantages by using calculators.
